Initial Production Check (IPC)

What is Initial Production Check (IPC)?

Initial Production Check (IPC) is a quality control process that is conducted at the beginning of the production cycle.

It involves inspecting the initial samples or prototypes of a product to ensure that they meet the required specifications and quality standards.

What is the Purpose of IPC?

Prevent Risks

By identifying those potential problems, it also helps to minimise the risk of producing a large quantity of defective products.

Identify Problems

Identifying any potential issues or defects early on in the production process enables us to make timely corrections and improvements.

Meet High Standards

As a result of avoiding any defects on the product, this ensures that the final product meets the desired quality standards.

What is the Process of IPC Like?

During an IPC, various aspects of the product are examined, including its design, functionality, materials, and workmanship.

Any deviations from the specified requirements are documented and communicated to the production team for necessary actions.

Why is IPC Important?

IPC is an essential step in the product development and manufacturing process to ensure that the final product meets the expectations of the customers and the company’s quality standards.

An IPC is an on-site product inspection performed from before your production begins up until 20% has been completed. In an IPC inspection, inspectors check the quality of raw materials and the first items produced in a production run.
