Quality Control

As an independent, third-party Manufacturing and Industrial Consultancy, Grant Lloyd conducts comprehensive on-site Quality Control Inspection services to ensure that your brand, reputation, and consumers are fully protected

Assuring Quality Control in every phase: Manufacturing and Product Inspections

Grant Lloyd’s manufacturing quality control inspection services enable you to uphold rigorous quality standards throughout your entire supply chain. By taking advantage of our inspections at every production stage, you effectively protect your business from product recalls, customer complaints, and severe reputational harm.

Furthermore, our expert consultants verify that your exact product specifications – including quality, functionality, and performance requirements – are fully met. As a result, these inspections prevent defective products from reaching end consumers. To support your production lifecycle, we offer comprehensive quality control inspection services, including Initial Production Check (IPC), During Production Check (DUPRO), Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), Container Loading Supervision (CLS), and Production Monitoring (PM).

Initial Production Check
(IPC)

To begin with, an Initial Production Check (IPC) serves to identify potential material or process issues at the earliest stage possible.

During Production Check (DUPRO)

In addition, placing a Grant Lloyd consultant directly on your vendor’s factory floor during production ensures your order remains strictly on schedule.

Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

Once manufacturing reaches completion, a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) involves a meticulous review that ascertains the correct fulfilment of your production order.

Container Loading Supervision (CLS)

Similarly, Container Loading Supervision (CLS) ensures your completed production order is loaded accurately before final payment settlement and dispatch.

Production Monitoring (PM)

Finally, for continuous oversight, our Production Monitoring (PM) service places an inspector on-site to maintain quality standards throughout the entire manufacturing run.

Scope of Inspection

During an inspection, a Grant Lloyd consultant evaluates products at specific production phases using a customised checklist. Consequently, this checklist is specifically adapted to your product specifications to assess the following key areas:

  • T1 – Workmanship (i.e. Style, Material & Colour)
  • T2 – Safety
  • T3 – Function
  • T4 – Construction
  • T5 – Data Measurement
  • T6 – Packing
  • T7 – Marking/Labelling/Barcode
  • T8 – Packaging/Transportation (i.e. Drop Test)

Standards and Procedures Adopted

We utilise the internationally recognised ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 (ISO 2859-1) statistical sampling method. Therefore, you are guaranteed an unbiased sample rather than a selectively prepared presentation from your vendor.

Specifically, the evaluation assesses product characteristics and determines the proportion of nonconforming units per 100 units. To establish exact sample sizes and acceptance thresholds, we apply the Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) international standard.

Determine Your Sample Size and AQL

Enter your order quantity, inspection level and AQL values into the calculator below. The tool calculates your required sample size and accept/reject points based on ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 (ISO 2859-1) sampling tables.

Below is an example of inspecting 5,000 units at General Inspection Level II with an AQL of 2.5.

AQL Sampling Calculator

Inspection Parameters

Inspection Level: General II
Sample Code Letter: L
Sample Size to Inspect: 200 units

Accept / Reject Limits

Critical Defects: Accept 0 / Reject 1
Major Defects: Accept 10 / Reject 11
Minor Defects: Accept 14 / Reject 15

How are Inspection Results Delivered?

Immediately after the inspection completes, you will receive a daily summary providing an overall accept / reject judgment. Shortly thereafter, we issue a detailed final report. This comprehensive document outlines all inspection findings, complete with defect photographs and technical analysis.
